One Of These In The Future

There is one of these in our future, Rachel is engaged to be Married February 19th,2010. We are happy for her and Jonathan and wish them well, they dated some in high school and parted ways and went on to other relationships. Since Rachel's divorce they started dating again off and on and fell in love and have become engaged. Jonathan loves Jace and knows that Rachel is a package deal and they have been attending church and have started pre-marital counseling with our pastor. We have given them our blessings and we are praying for them daily, the wedding is going to be much smaller than her first marriage. We are going with a shabby chic theme with some purple and sage green so I would love any ideals any of you might have. Since the girls have been grown we are now at a small church that looks like a country church ( it use to be in the country until the town has grown and spread out) We are on a very tight budget and I will be using some decor I have and will be looking at yard sales and flea markets. We have found an ivory dress on ebay that I will show you soon. I need ideals on how to make some inexpensive flower arrangments for the church and reception we will be using alot of candles and I have some mirrors I can use on the bride and grooms tables.....Barb

More painting
Today was a very busy day, I went to Rachel's house and finished painting her kitchen and we rearranged furniture and trimmed some of her bushes. I had some leftover paint from my living room and used it to paint her kitchen, she has a small den off of her kitchen and I helped her move a few pieces of furniture and took some decor I'm not using and gave it a fresh look. On another note Lauren's career is going great she has been really busy and the photographer she is working for has been training her to take photos and she has been working quite a few weddings and engagement sessions with him plus getting to do some hair and makeup, she is loving every moment of it. Jace spent the night last night and he wanted to see papaw and his police car, he was at an asian market working off duty so we went by and of course I forgot my camera. They has live crabs and crawfish and Jace thought that was the best thing he had ever seen the look on his face was priceless. Have a wonderful rest of the weekend....Barb

Sunset over the Arkansas River
A beautiful summer sunset over the Arkansas river taken from the Big Dam Bridge. The bridge is a pedestrian/ bicycle bridge built into the dam, it is suppose to the only bridge ever built into a dam. The name is part of a marketing ploy to get peoples attention to visit, it also connects Little Rock and North Little Rock. Also my daughters boyfriend is doing well he has had some mild pain and a small amount of swelling but has not missed any work, I appreciate all of your prayers and kind thoughts....Barb

Scary moment tonight
My daughter's boyfriend had a motorcycle accident around 7:00 pm, a dog ran out in front of him and he swerved to miss and wrecked he has some road rash, bruises and some cuts. Thank goodness he was only going about 25 miles per hour and there was no cars around and also that my daughter was not on the back. His bike has some damage but I thank God he is going to be ok and that God was watching out for him. He will be really sore for a few days but will be ok and that he was wearing a helmet, when she called me and told me my heart sank for a moment all I can say is thank you Jesus....Barb

Sad News Day
I don't know if you all heard about the shooting today in Little Rock, two military soldiers were shot and one has died and the other is in serious condition. They were just out of basic training and were at a reserve center to share their stories with possible recruits. The man that was arrested did this because of "political and religious motives", I don't understand how someone can justify murder for any motive. This with all the other news today about the missing plane just makes my heart ache for the families involved....Barb
