I had a wonderful birthday weekend, my husband treated me to brunch at the Capital Hotel which is one of my favorite places to have brunch plus I love the history of the hotel. It was built in the 1870's and has beautiful architectural detail, our food was great. My appetizer was fried green tomato with goat cheese and pepper jelly, my entree stoneground buckwheat pancakes with smoked applewood bacon with chantilly cream and grilled apples and for dessert fresh arkansas strawberries with creme fraiche and rice fritters. My husband's omelette and hashbrowns plate as you can see was gorgeous and he also had pecan pie tart with brown butter ice cream, and a mini quiche with fresh spring vegetables. The box of sugar was from my youngest daughter Lauren....Barb
I am feeling much better, my blood pressure is back to normal it seems to have been a symptom of the migraine. My IBS symptoms have been much better, I have been taking probiotics ( they put more good bacteria in your body) eating more fiber and smaller meals and realizing that some foods are going to be off limits because they trigger my stomach pain. I have started back walking and plan on getting back to running some and allowing extra time in the mornings for my devotion and prayer.
Thanks for the get well wishes it has been a long week having a migraine and normally takes me about 3 to 4 days to feel back to normal. But for some reason my blood pressure has been elevated and the doctor seems to think its from the migraine but, I have to monitor it for the next few weeks. My stress level has been off the charts dealing with my mom's illness and the doctor seems to think I've just let the stress build up and it is also making me have stomach issues possibly IBS so I'm going to have to learn to deal with my stress better and take some time for me to decompress.I have always felt like I have been dealing with all this well until recently and know I'm just letting it build up.I have been praying for God to help me to handle all this without affecting my health. Please pray for my family and I as we care for my mom and all the difficulties we will be facing in the future.....Barb
April 7th, 1984 at 1:37 P.M. my life changed forever my first daughter was born weighing 7 pounds and 10 ounces. She is all grown up and a mommy now to my grandson Jace and pregnant with grandbaby #2. Happy 26th birthday Rachel, we love you!
Today was Jace's 1st TBall game and he and his team surprised us since they had been so distracted at practice's. They had so much fun and since I'm not a sports fan I actually had fun too, I guess it's different when your watching your grandson play! Rachel picked the number #4 since he will be 4 in May and my son-in-law in his shirt and he and some of the other dad's help the coach out with the team. I hope you all have a blessed and wonderful easter....Barb
