Weekly Update

Another busy week at work and I'm back on my workout schedule that has been neglected the past few months, doing a little christmas shopping and putting off wrapping gifts because I hate to wrap! Wonderful weekend!

We had a wonderful thanksgiving and weekend and these two little guys made it a wonderful holiday. I have been putting up my fall decor and getting out christmas decor and did a little christmas shopping this weekend. Gage is 10 weeks old now doesn't he look like a big boy in his bumpo seat? and Jace in his fighter pilot jacket so cute....Barb

Happy Thanksgiving!

I forgot my camera on my trip to St. Louis last week so I took a few photos with my I phone this was a picture I took from my hotel window one morning. We are getting ready for thanksgiving thursday, I have a 20 pound turkey ready to cook. We will have 16 family members coming for lunch so I will be very busy the next few days, I hope you all have a wonderful and blessed thanksgiving....Barb

Spooky City!

Tonight our local town had spooky city,they had the downtown square blocked and all the stores had candy or treats so the kids could trick or treat safely. They had a stage where the kids could stop and tell how old they were and and about their costumes which Jace couldn't wait to do!

Hey guys, wow life is busy! Gage will be a month old this week and the road from my house to his house has stayed very well traveled. I went to Jace's pre-K class friday and gave a talk on healthy teeth and brushing and all his classmates were so cute, Lauren has found an apartment and will be moving out soon so we are looking for cheap deals for her new place and all her stuff packed in my garage will be gone.My husband and I have a trip planned to Belize and Roatan after the holidays and I am so looking forward to getting away and snorkeling, exploring and a tall tropical fruity drink. We are getting ready to have new software updates installed at work so I am studying to learn as much as I can about it so I can teach everyone at work how to use it and also a trip to St.Louis the weekend before thanksgiving to take a class for work.Whew! Thats a piece of my crazy life right now hope to have some pics for you soon....Barb

Fall

Starting to feel like fall here, some cooler weather and pumpkins and mums are showing up everywhere. We hope for some rain soon since it has been very dry and we still have burn bans posted, hope you are all well....Barb

Tired!

We are all doing fine just tired, I am thankful Rachel only lives about 10 minutes from me so its easy to run back and forth. I forgot how tiring a newborn is and the new parents are really tired he's had his days and nights mixed up which always seems to happen with newborns. I spent the first three nights with them and took off work this week to take Jace to school and cook and clean at Rachel's, we took Gage to his first doctor visit today and he's gained 3 ounces and looks great. Jace is doing very well with him and is very protective, he wakes up around 11:00 PM and wants to stay awake until 4:00 AM so praying this won't last much longer....Barb

Gage Carter is here!

Gage Carter was born September 20th, at 9:55 AM weighing 8 pounds 8 ounces and 20 1/2 inches long. Rachel did great with her c-section and mommy,daddy big brother Jace and Gage are all doing great. They came home from the hospital yesterday and I am staying with them the next few days and I am off next week so I can take Jace to school and help Rachel during the day while Jonathan works, we are all over the moon with the new addition to our family....Barb

My weekend

I may not be posting much the next few weeks, Rachel was put on bed rest yesterday until monday when Gage will be born, so I am doing the errands she had planned this weekend and one of my dear friends son passed away from his battle with cancer and visitation was tonight and the funeral is tomorrow. He was only 28 years old and I remember being at the hospital when he was born, so I have been very emotional today with all this going on. I will try and post after Gage's birth and let you see how cute I know he's going to be, just say a prayer for mom and baby for a easy healthy birth....Barb

Happy Labor Day!

Happy Labor day, in the United States it is a federal holiday observed on the first Monday in September and an extra day off work for many people. It always marks the end of summer for us even if the temp's outside are still hot, we celebrated this weekend with barbecue and family which included Rachel's baby shower, my husbands 50th birthday and seeing some family and friends that we had not seen for awhile. My husband doesn't like for me to blog about him but I will say happy birthday again and I love you....Barb

One of Rachel's friends hosted a baby shower at my house today, and baby to be Gage has some of the cutest stuff ever. She did a wonderful job and we had a great time with family and friends getting ready to have this new little boy born into our family. I am getting so excited counting down the days and can't wait to be in the delivery room with Rachel and Jonathan to see Gage as soon as he is born and see my daughter become a mother for the 2nd time....Barb

Chicago

Life has been crazy busy around here, I'm trying to squeeze in lot's of things before September 20th (that's when Rachel's c-section is scheduled) because I know I will be very busy helping her, this pic was a from a quick trip in Chicago. Today at lunch a man at a table behind us slumped over and was unconscious, at first I thought he was just feeling ill and then my friend said no, we then jumped up and got him on the floor and found out he had a pulse, I'll spare all the details but when the paramedics arrived he became semi-conscious and we think he had a heart attack, hopefully he's doing ok because everything happened so fast we have no clue to his name.

22!

My baby girl Lauren had her 22nd birthday this week, I don't know how I became the mother of a 22 & 26 year old, because I don't feel any older than that most days! We celebrated with pizza and strawberry cake and of course Jace had to help Aunt Lauren blow out her candles on her cake. Happy birthday again Lauren, I love you more than there are stars in the sky and fish in the ocean....Mom

Rachel has started her weekly doctor visit's for this little guy. She is scheduled for a c-section September 20th so we can't wait to meet Gage Carter.

Little Man's First Day of Pre-School

My grandson's first day of pre-school, he said he had a good day.

Rain

Much needed rain thursday afternoon, standing in the door of my office building, we have had burn bans and very hot and dry conditions so I was very happy to see some rain. Over the treeline is the Arkansas Heart Hospital and on many days we watch them landing their helicopter bringing in a seriously ill patient.
