I had a wonderful birthday weekend, my husband treated me to brunch at the Capital Hotel which is one of my favorite places to have brunch plus I love the history of the hotel. It was built in the 1870's and has beautiful architectural detail, our food was great. My appetizer was fried green tomato with goat cheese and pepper jelly, my entree stoneground buckwheat pancakes with smoked applewood bacon with chantilly cream and grilled apples and for dessert fresh arkansas strawberries with creme fraiche and rice fritters. My husband's omelette and hashbrowns plate as you can see was gorgeous and he also had pecan pie tart with brown butter ice cream, and a mini quiche with fresh spring vegetables. The box of sugar was from my youngest daughter Lauren....Barb
