Heavy Heart

We found out last week that our oldest daughter Rachel is getting remarried tomorrow,they are going to a JP and having a small reception at her house. I feel this should be a happy time for our family but I also feel this is not the right man for her and she's only been divorced a year. I have talked to her and voiced my concerns but they seem to fall on deaf ears, I have been praying about this and just feel its not right. They just seem to have to many disagreements on so many things and I'm trying to keep my mouth shut and just pray.What else can you do with grown children? besides want to wring their necks when they worry us to death. She's so smart in every other aspect of her life but when it comes to men she seems to pick the wrong ones.I'm sorry I just needed to vent and I hope I am wrong about this but please keep our family in your prayers and that my stress level will go down ,my main concern is Jace in all this his father has skipped out on him and I don't want him to get emotionally attached and have someone else leave also....Barb

Recipe for Coca Cola Cake

You guys that are interested in the coca cola cake recipe can go to myrecipes.com and type in coca cola cake.It says the recipe was featured in Southern Living in 2002, and I love Southern Living recipes. It turned out very moist and the icing tasted like fudge to me, so the birthday girl was very happy. We all went to the Butcher Shop since she wanted steak for her birthday and Jace had to sing happy birthday to Aunt Lauren. I wanted to give her something special for her 21st and I had some pearls that my grandfather gave my mom when she was younger and she passed them on to me in my twenties and now they are Lauren's.She was surprised and happy to have them she loves mixing jewlery and clothing so I know they will look cute on her....Barb

Coca Cola Cake

Lauren's 21st birthday is this week (Aug.25th) and she has asked me to make a coca cola cake, I have never made one before. I have made every other kind of cake you can imagine so I looked up recipes online and they all seem to be similar, so if any of you have a recipe for one please feel free to share it with me....Barb

Fall's Coming (hopefully soon)

Today has been a beautiful day out,temps were in the 80's today which is very unusual for August in central Arkansas. We also had a nice breeze and very low humidity, I worked in the yard and started cutting back flowers in my flowerbeds for fall and trimmed some bushes. My father-in-law came over and helped my husband replace some wood siding on the back of the house that needed replaced.

I am so ready for fall it's my favorite time of the year, I love crisp cool days and the fall colors.I hope you all have had a wonderful day and enjoy the rest of the week-end....Barb

New York

Some daylilies from my backyard last month,I love the color of these. Do you ever feel like God is telling you no not now? That's how I have felt the last 4 days. I have been working like crazy to get the house ready to sell and since the weekend I have felt like God is telling me no, we need to wait. My husband and I sat and talked about this over the weekend and for several reasons we have decided to postpone selling, I'm a little disappointed but feel this is the right decision for now....Barb

Tired

With everything going on with repairs on the house from the storm and daily life, I'm just tired and weary. I haven't had time to post with everything going on right now but hope each of you are doing well....Barb

The painters are almost done,yeah! The new garage door is going up tomorrow and hopefully the other few things will be done by next week. We are going to contact the realtor tomorrow and see about putting the house up for sale so we will see what happens, I have been doing alot of prayer about this and am praying it all works out and if it doesn't I hope to not be too disappointed. My surgical extraction is doing well and my facial pain is gone, just normal tenderness and soreness, I am so thankful we finally found the problem. Have a great day....Barb
